Joseph F. Batir
Joe is a junior studying Geology with minors in Mathematics and Physics. He is interested in improving non-invasive geophysical data collection techniques, applying these techniques to environmental remediation projects and archaeological geology, and increasing their popularity in the research community. Joe has received a grant for next year to identify gravesites in a cemetery with no burial record using these techniques. On campus, he has worked with student organizations to increase the use of renewable energy and has established a prairie restoration project. In his spare time, Joe enjoys being outdoors, rock climbing, and helping conserve the environment.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
