Nikolai R. Smith
Nikolai Smith, a social policy and international studies major at Northwestern University, grew up in Germany and Italy and has spent most of his life in Milwaukee. He has participated in asset-based community development, studied Arabic in Jordan and worked with a non-profit in Uganda. Currently, he is studying community organizations in Mexico and France. He enjoys playing sports and traveling. Nicky plans to study for an MPA to understand ways to connect policy to community development, especially environmental community-based education programs both in the US and abroad. His career goal is to connect policy and scholarly communities with disadvantaged communities throughout the world.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
