Ben is a third-year student double majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Community Development. He is president of Lafayette's TREEhouse environmentally-conscious living group and sits on the Sustainability Committee. Ben serves as webmaster for LEAP (Lafayette Environmental Awareness & Protection) and chairs its Solar Committee, now working to bring a nearly 12,000 square foot solar-thermal system to campus. He also enjoys photography and the outdoors, whether exploring the natural beauty of his native New Hampshire or backpacking around Europe for seven months to see and strengthen community connections. His current research examines the effects of technological development on social structures, which he is applying to engineer a green economy in the Holy Cross neighborhood of New Orleans.
