Sara L. Jackrel
College of New Jersey

Sara is a sophomore majoring in Biology and Environmental Studies. She is a national College Leadership Council member for Roots & Shoots, a global youth program of the Jane Goodall Institute. She founded her high school and college Roots & Shoots groups, and serves as a mentor of local groups. She spent last summer studying the impact of cattle ranching on predator-prey interactions between snakes and grassland birds in the Kansas Flint Hills. Currently she studies predation of invasive boa constrictors on the native fauna of Aruba. Sara plans to attend graduate school in conservation ecology and ultimately continue research in wildlife conservation.
