Michael J. Adelman
Lafayette College

Michael Adelman is a sophomore in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lafayette College. He has a strong interest in sustainable development, and has been to Honduras multiple times to work on water and coffee-farming projects (and attempt to avoid the scorpions ...). He also founded a sustainable development group in Germany this semester.
He participates in research on soil cleanup, trace metals, wastewater drainage in developing communities, and composting – and even led the development of a student-built, campus-wide composting system! He loves being outdoors for work or fun, from Central America to the Adirondacks, and is spending this summer researching contaminant bioremediation (and rooting for the Red Sox!)
