William J. Coe
Joey is a junior geography major (concentration in environment and sustainable development). He is particularly interested in international sustainable development issues. His freshman year he co-led his university’s successfully national ONE Campaign Campus Challenge to Make Poverty History. Last semester, he circumnavigated the globe as part of the Semester at Sea program. On the ship, Joey founded an environmental club and managed a climate lobbying campaign from the Indian Ocean. He also worked to institutionalize service learning into the Semester at Sea program. His other hobbies include his band, Joe and the Bugmen 5, reading, writing, and wondering how he got such magnificent friends and family.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
