Kimberly M. Parker
Kim is a junior in environmental engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is researching mechanisms to degrade pharmaceuticals in drinking water, a growing threat to water supplies worldwide. Also, she is the project lead for the Engineers without Borders Guatemala Water Project, which researches improvements in biosand filter design while simultaneously installing 150 biosand filters in a rural village in Guatemala.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
