Abby M. Halperin

Abby is majoring in biology and environmental studies. She has worked on many educational and sustainability initiatives including determining how her high school could use solar energy, illustrating and co-authoring a sustainability guide for Oberlin’s freshman class, campaigning to reduce bottled water sales on campus, and developing plans to compost post-consumer waste in the dining halls. Her career goals include researching the ecology of climate change in national parks while making science accessible and inspirational. To this end, she has volunteered at Point Reyes National Seashore and will research climate change at the University of Michigan Biological Station this summer.
