Hannah N. Perls
Columbia University

Hannah is a junior majoring in environmental science with a minor in sustainable development. She hopes to become a climate scientist, forecasting the impacts of climate change on water, agriculture and human health. She has worked on environmental policy in Washington DC, and volunteered in Boston teaching environmental science to urban youth. She also works on campus to improve student behaviors regarding waste, water, energy and food. Last semester Hannah studied abroad in Nepal, researching climate change impacts on Himalayan glaciers and livelihoods. When she’s not accidentally lighting the kitchen on fire, she also loves swing dancing, cheering on the Red Sox and playing soccer with her brothers.
