Rita Y. Martinez
Rita is from Laguna and Jemez Pueblos. She is currently a junior studying criminology with a minor in social welfare. She is interested in working with tribes to develop culturally relevant responses to crime, violence and victimization issues within tribal communities. In addition to going to school, Rita is the Office Manager for the American Indian Development Associates, a national training, research and technical assistance firm. Through her education and career, Rita hopes to improve the quality of life of Indian children, youth and families. When Rita is not at work or school she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
