Samantha Aguirre
Samantha is a junior majoring in biomedical engineering at Arizona State University (ASU). This past school year she served as the co-director for the American Indian Science and Engineering Society Region 3 Conference. As a member of the ASU pre-dental club, she volunteered and assisted dentists at the Centro de Salud in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. She also conducted her own research project synthesizing a biomimetic nanofiber scaffold to improve the osseointegration of dental implants through the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative program at ASU. Her lifelong goal is to practice the art of dentistry at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center where she currently shadows and volunteers.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
