Lauren E. Horning
Lauren Horning is a sophomore environmental studies and Spanish major at Washington and Jefferson College. As a freshman, Lauren began a composting program and developed an environmentally themed residence hall where she is the resident assistant. An officer of the W&J Green Club, Lauren has led a do-it-yourself laundry detergent workshop, a natural spa day program, trips to the farmers’ market, and recycling of discarded books from the local public library. This summer she will spend nine weeks in Argentina as a WWOOFer on organic farms to study sustainable living. In her free time, Lauren loves to kayak and play the piano.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
