Katherine N. Luke
Katherine Luke is an environmental studies and economics major with a focus on sustainable agriculture in drylands. She is vice president of the University of Pittsburgh campus garden, Plant to Plate, which works to improve food access in her urban neighborhood through a partnership with the community kitchen, and is currently writing her undergraduate thesis on the uses of gardens to ameliorate food deserts. As part of the Pittsburgh Student Environmental Coalition, she has worked locally to promote responsible water management and clean energy policies. In her spare time, Katherine can be found hiking, bicycling, or in the sculpture studio.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
