Jennifer E. Schmidt
Jennifer Schmidt is fascinated by the interface between agriculture and soil. Originally from Seattle, she now attends Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she started a post-consumer composting program and co-leads the Pomona College Organic Farm Club. Gardening workshops and a biweekly farm stand allow her to share her enthusiasm for growing good food with other members of the community. Last summer, Jennifer studied the effect of different agricultural management practices on soil bacteria, and she hopes to pursue a career in sustainable agriculture research. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and playing soccer and ultimate Frisbee.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
