Matthew C. Kirkegaard
Matt Kirkegaard is a junior at the University of Utah, pursuing degrees in environmental and sustainability studies and political science. He is interested in the formulation of cooperative, scientifically informed environmental policy. In Utah, he has dealt extensively with public land policy, namely large state-federal trust land exchanges. He leads the rapidly growing fossil fuel divestment campaign at the University of Utah and is currently exploring divestment within the Salt Lake City Division of Sustainability and the Environment. One day, Matt hopes to develop international environmental and climate policy, particularly in Latin America. He lives in his hometown, Salt Lake City.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
