MariKate H. Hulbutta
MariKate Hulbutta is an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma and is also of Seminole and Muscogee (Creek) descent. She is currently in her junior year and will graduate from Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in the spring of 2014. During her time at Columbia she has been involved with the Native American Council, the Multicultural Recruitment Committee, and the Pre-Law Society. Upon receiving her bachelor’s degree MariKate plans to go to law school. She hopes to devote her career to advocating for better quality and access to healthcare in order to alleviate health disparities among Native Americans in both urban and rural communities.
