The Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus Program

Who We Are - Staff & Volunteers

Julia Tenen,
Tucson Trip Leader

Julia was born and raised in Tucson. She spent her childhood hiking, camping, and caving in the mountains and deserts with her father. She received her first camera when she was 12 years old, igniting her obsession with photography. Julia has taken thousands of photos all over the world, filling up more external hard-drives than she would care to admit. With a strong appreciation and love of the outdoors, Julia joined the Parks in Focus team after participating in the program for several years as a staff member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson. Since 2014, Julia has been the Health and PE director at the Roy Drachman Boys and Girls Club, coaching both boys’ and girls’ basketball and ultimate Frisbee. Julia is passionate about getting youth participating, appreciating, and loving their Parks in Focus experience. Outside of her professional commitments, Julia enjoys being active by playing competitive ultimate frisbee, women’s basketball, traveling, and spending time with her family.
