Kilo is a fish, wildlife, and conservation biology major, whose research interests include invasive species management in wetland and coastal ecosystems. He serves as president of Colorado State's chapter of Minorities in Agriculture and Natural Resources (MANRRS) Club. Growing up on the rural Hawaiian island of Molokai, where his passion for the environment originates, Kilo's family lives a subsistence lifestyle of fishing, hunting, and farming. Kilo strives to be a representative for his island community, where very few go on to college. Kilo is also a resident assistant on his campus and enjoys playing volleyball, fishing, and cooking.
