Deirdre A. Conroy

Deirdre is a wildlife conservation major who is passionate about international environmental management and policy, particularly in Latin America. As treasurer of the Cave Club at Virginia Tech, Deirdre has mapped and led trips into subterranean cave systems. She also worked in several national parks on ecological restoration and wildlife monitoring projects. For the past year, Deirdre has studied wildlife communities on privately owned land and has presented her work at conferences. This summer she will be traveling to Belize to study the influence of sustainable logging on jaguar densities. In her free time, Deirdre rides horses, runs trails, and enjoys books and films.
