Riley J. Garvey
Riley Garvey is a biosystems engineering and biological sciences double major at Clemson University. A Hollings Scholar, Riley is dedicated to marine research and conservation, and will pursue graduate study in marine sciences. Through fieldwork in the Florida Keys, he has explored how reef fish interact with artificial structures and reef ecology changes due to disturbance. He will be analyzing dissolved gas concentrations along the Mariana Back Arc this summer. Riley is an officer in Tigers for Green Innovation and helped plan Clemson’s first Sustainability Summit. He is also a long-time volunteer with Something Very Fishy, an outreach program educating local children about the environment.
