Jonathan G. Karlen

Jonathan is a student at the University of Montana (UM), majoring in wildlife biology with a minor in climate change studies. He is passionate about the conservation of wildlife and wildlands, and plans to pursue a career in natural resources policy. He served as president of the UM Chapter of The Wildlife Society and sits on the student senate. Through UM, he also teaches watershed science in Missoula schools. He is currently working on two research projects: a study of the impact of climate change on intertidal biodiversity, and a senior thesis on the effects of wildfire on mammals. In his free time, Jonathan coaches youth ski-racing and enjoys exploring Montana’s public lands.
