Kaitlyn, a Cherokee Nation citizen, is a student at Oklahoma State University studying political science. She plans to become an attorney specializing in Federal Indian law, through which she hopes to advance Tribal sovereignty and the rights of Native Americans. At OSU, she is a member of the Honors College, was Miss American Indian OSU 2021, is the current president of the Native American Student Association, and is an active leader at the Center for Sovereign Nations. Outside of school, she has interned for Cherokee Nation’s Delegate to Congress, Kim Teehee, and has received several awards, a few being the National Indian Health Board Youth Leadership Award and United National Indian Tribal Youth 25 Under 25.
