UDALL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation (Udall Foundation) is pleased to announce a new Education Program, the Morris K. Udall and John S. McCain III Native American Graduate Fellowship in Tribal Policy (Native American Graduate Fellowship). The Native American Graduate Fellowship recognizes outstanding Native American and Alaska Native graduate students who are currently pursuing advanced degrees in health care fields and who have demonstrated a personal commitment to Native health care. The Native American Graduate Fellowship Program honors the legacies of Morris K. Udall and John S. McCain III. In 2021, the Udall Foundation anticipates awarding up to two Fellowships of $25,000 each. The 2021 Native American Graduate Fellowship application deadline is May 21, 2021.
“The Board of Trustees is delighted that the Udall Foundation is in a position to make the Morris K. Udall and John S. McCain III Native American Graduate Fellowship in Tribal Policy available,” said Udall Foundation Board of Trustees Chair Mr. Eric Eberhard. “We are grateful for the hard work of the Udall Foundation staff to bring the Fellowship to life and to the Congress for making all of this possible. The Fellowship is an important addition to the Udall Foundation’s Education Programs, a fitting expression of the legacy of Mo Udall and John McCain and a valuable asset for all of Indian Country.”
The Native American Graduate Fellowship joins the other Education Programs administered by the Udall Foundation: the Native American Congressional Internship, the Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus® Program, and the Udall Undergraduate Scholarship.

McCain III Native American Graduate Fellowship in Tribal Policy to its suite of Education Programs,” said Udall Foundation Director of Education Programs Dr. Alicia Harris. “We look forward to offering this Fellowship opportunity and assisting Native American and Alaska Native graduate students who are seeking a career of service in Native health care.”
About the Udall Foundation
The Udall Foundation awards Scholarships, Fellowships, and Internships for study in fields related to the environment and to Native Americans and Alaska Natives in fields related to health care and Tribal public policy; connects youth from underserved communities to the Nation’s public lands and natural resources to foster greater understanding, appreciation, stewardship, and enjoyment of those lands and resources through photography, positive outdoor experiences, and environmental education through Parks in Focus®; provides funding to the Native Nations Institute for research, education, and outreach on Native American and Alaska Native health care issues and Tribal public policy issues; provides funding to the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy to conduct policy research and outreach on the environment and related themes; and provides impartial collaboration, consensus-building, and conflict resolution services on a wide range of environmental, natural and cultural resources, Tribal, and public lands issues involving the Federal Government through the John S. McCain III National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution.
