The Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus Program
Our Programs - Oklahoma
Parks in Focus® is developing a year-round program in Oklahoma City, modeled
after our successful flagship program in Tucson.
Thanks to generous support from the Inasmuch Foundation, we piloted our Oklahoma
program in fall 2012 with the Boys & Girls Clubs
of Oklahoma County.
Now, Parks in Focus® also partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma,
Positive Tomorrows, and other
youth organizations to introduce underserved youth from the Oklahoma City area to
Oklahoma’s parks and scenic places. Throughout
the year, we host a variety of afterschool and weekend outings to places like Bluff
Creek Park, Arcadia Lake, Martin Park, Myriad
Botanical Gardens, Roman Nose State Park, and
Wichita Mountains
Wildlife Refuge.
Photographs taken by our 2014 participants were exhibited at the Oklahoma City Museum
of Art. For more information and a short video, visit News & Events.
