What is Parks in Focus® – Our Team

Born and raised in California’s Central Valley, Hector grew up surrounded by nature. His hometown of Reedley is just 45 minutes west of Sequoia National Park. After graduating from high school, Hector worked with the U.S. Forest Service in Sequoia National Forest and then with the National Park Service in Yosemite National Park. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in forestry at Humboldt State University. One of Hector’s greatest passions is involving himself with organizations that take youth outdoors. He plans to pursue a career leading backpacking trips with underserved youth.
