Guidelines for Public Comments

Some Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation (Udall Foundation) social media profiles, blogs, and YouTube channels allow for the posting of public comments. Posted comments must directly relate to the information and/or topics of discussion on those social media profiles, blogs, and YouTube channels.

The Udall Foundation encourages and welcomes public comments. However, the agency requests that this be done in a respectful manner, and it retains the discretion to determine which comments violate its public comments guidelines. The agency also reserves the right to hide, remove, and/or not allow comments to be posted.

The Udall Foundation does not discriminate against any views, but it reserves the right to hide or delete any of the following:

  • Comments containing misleading or false information, including links to sites containing misleading or false information.
  • Comments containing personally identifiable information, such as Social Security Numbers, home or business addresses, email addresses, or phone numbers.
  • Comments containing threats of harm or violence.
  • Comments containing profanity, obscenity, or vulgarity, including images of or links to such material.
  • Comments containing nudity in profile pictures or images shared in comments.
  • Comments containing defamation to a person or people.
  • Comments containing name calling and/or personal attacks.
  • Comments whose main purpose is to sell a product or promote commercial or non-federal websites or services.
  • Comments that infringe on copyrights.
  • Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile.
  • Comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity.

Repeated violations of the Udall Foundation’s public comments guidelines may cause the author to be blocked.

Comments that violate the guidelines above will be addressed as soon as possible. The Udall Foundation trusts the community to either 1) ignore personal attacks and negative speech or 2) respond politely.

These public comments guidelines are valid for all discussions on any Udall Foundation-managed forum.

The opinions expressed in public comments are those of the authors and do not represent the official positions of the Udall Foundation.
