Imani M. Hicks, Pechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians of the Pechanga Reservation
Duke University

Imani is an enrolled member of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians in Temecula, California. She is a senior at Duke University majoring in public policy with certificates in human rights and Latin American and Caribbean studies. Imani is one of the original members and treasurer of the Duke chapter of Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, the first Native American sorority in the nation. She has also served as events chair and executive board member of the Duke Native American Student Alliance (NASA). Imani is currently completing a virtual internship with the Indian Health Service’s Urban Indian Health Programs Office where she is working to streamline information available about urban Indian health programs. Following graduation, Imani is planning on pursuing a law degree.
