Womsikuk James, Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) of Massachusetts
Dartmouth College

Womsikuk “Kuk” is an enrolled member of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), and has additional Oglala Lakota ancestry through his mother. He is currently enrolled at Dartmouth College, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in history and government. In high school, he worked as an intern in the Massachusetts state legislature, primarily focusing on healthcare and criminal justice issues affecting the Commonwealth. After completing his undergraduate studies, Kuk plans on either pursuing a master’s degree in government and public policy or enrolling in law school. Professionally, he intends to focus on Tribal economic development and the bolstering of Tribal courts and Tribal criminal jurisdiction, through government, non-profit, or private sectors.
