Erika A. Salinas, Comanche Nation
University of Southern California

Erika is a member of the Comanche Nation and is of Kiowa descent. Her Comanche name is nai?bi wa?ip?. Erika is currently a second-year Ph.D. student at the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Her research interests center around improving compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act. Currently, she is a research assistant for the Tribal Medication Assisted Treatment Project under Dr. Claradina Soto (Navajo/Pueblo). Prior to her doctoral education, Erika worked as a social worker for Adult Protective Services in Sacramento County. Upon graduation, Erika would like to pursue a career in improving Tribal-state relations through policy for the State of California.
