Celeste L. Lucero, Pueblo of Isleta

Celeste proudly comes from the Pueblo of Isleta and is a descendant of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. She is in her junior year at the University of New Mexico, studying environmental science and economics. Previously, Celeste participated in the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of Washington. Currently, she works as a lobbyist assistant tracking legislative bills affecting New Mexico Tribes. Celeste has a passion for policy which is rooted in Native culture. She plans to pursue a Juris Doctorate, which will support her advocacy for Tribal public policy and environmental justice.
