Jasmine R. Butler
Jasmine is a first-generation college student majoring in geography with a minor in gender studies at Dartmouth College. She is devoted to achieving more just recovery from natural disasters and promoting inclusion in climate change planning for marginalized communities. She is currently writing an undergraduate honors thesis about the erasure of people of color as victims of historic urban floods. Jasmine plans to attend graduate school to continue her research and get more involved in organizing efforts around environmental and urban justice. She is a Mellon Mays Fellow, a media assistant for a sustainability organization in Memphis, and enjoys reading mystery novels and learning about abolition.
