Mohammed I. Memfis
Mohammed is an environmental studies and political science major who is committed to advancing climate policies and environmental justice within the United States and abroad. He has written position papers persuading Congress to modify tax credits for the incentivization of electricity storage, off-shore wind development, and renewable energy investment. He has led stakeholder meetings that advanced critical policies regarding plastic pollution, recycling markets, California’s 100% clean energy program, and electric vehicle charging. He is also interested in criminal justice and voting rights issues, and he enjoys playing competitive rugby. His honors thesis will focus on improving procedural trust and promoting environmental justice in international climate agreements.
