Leah is an environmental studies major who plans to mitigate the effects of climate change and habitat loss by conducting ecosystems research and promoting sustainable and ecologically resilient cities. At Illinois Wesleyan University, she is president of the Sierra Student Coalition, a sustainability focused student group. She also co-chairs the GREENetwork, a coalition of students, faculty, and staff that organizes efforts to solve environmental problems on campus. She is also performing a bird survey and habitat analysis in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, to determine how urban areas can be more accommodating to breeding bird species. In her free time, Leah loves to read, write, spend time with family, and birdwatch.
