Kate is earning a bachelor of science and master of public in environmental health at the University of Georgia (UGA). Her goal is to increase civic engagement and collective participation in environmental protection. She works with GA Adopt-A-Stream and the Upper Oconee Watershed Network to involve her community in water quality monitoring. Kate believes citizen science is the key to securing a sustainable and equitable world and has delivered a Tedx Talk on this subject. She works to connect her peers to a sustainable food system as president of UGArden, UGA's campus-community farm, and has developed a white paper on expanding UGA's composting program. In her free time, Kate enjoys thrifting, biking, and mushroom foraging.
