Joy E.M. Reeves
Joy is a junior at Duke University who is passionate about clean energy justice and climate communication. She is the author of “Growing Up in the Grassroots,” a book about intergenerational climate activism. Joy received a Huang Fellowship in science communication, during which she researched saltwater intrusion and ghost forests on the North Carolina coastline. In addition to her membership in several on-campus environmental groups, Joy has worked as a student ambassador for Joro, a startup app designed to track users’ carbon footprints. Having grown up near Washington, D.C., Joy hopes to pursue renewable energy policy and ensure that the United States’ “Green Energy Revolution” is equitable.
