Tejas is a current junior studying ecology at the University of Georgia. Tejas is fascinated by the ocean and spends most of his time researching coastal ecosystem ecology and salt marsh sustainability. He has spent a summer interning at the Bigelow Lab for Ocean Sciences studying bivalve transmissible neoplasia and has studied abroad in Costa Rica, in which he studied decomposition within bromeliads. On campus, Tejas also serves as co-president of the Ecology Mentor Program and is the Community Outreach Coordinator of Ocean Initiative. This summer, Tejas looks forward to being the teaching assistant for UGA’s Costa Rica study abroad program.
