Valeria is an animal science major with a double minor in environmental sustainability and agricultural business. She is on the pre-veterinary track and hopes to specialize in large animal veterinary medicine. She is the founder and CEO of a non-profit called Organizacion Animales Felices that aims at promoting animal welfare and sustainable agriculture in Colombia and other developing countries. She is currently conducting a research project involving bovine behavior to implement more sustainable manure utilization and improve animal welfare in beef systems. Valeria enjoys partaking in activities such as rock climbing, hiking, and figure skating. When she is not outside she likes playing the guitar and piano.
