Tessa G. Jarden
University of Montana
Tess is a rising senior studying ecosystem science and restoration at the University of Montana. She has spent the past three summers fighting wildland fire, most recently with the U.S. Forest Service, and is passionate about working at the intersection of fire, forest restoration and climate change adaptation. She will spend this summer conducting research on fire-climate feedbacks in boreal forests, including two weeks of field work in the Alaskan wilderness. In her free time she enjoys foraging, backpacking and birdwatching in the mountains surrounding Missoula.
