Originally from Lake Havasu, Arizona and a member of the Navajo Nation, Justin enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1998. Following 9 years of active service, Justin overcame years of personal hardships and enrolled at Mohave Community College in 2020, where he was an officer of four student clubs and volunteered countless hours in his hometown. He was selected to the All-Arizona Academic Team and awarded the Kathy Hodel Most Outstanding Student. Justin is currently studying psychology at the University of Arizona's W.A. Franke Honors College as a Ronald E. McNair Scholar. He recently studied abroad in Italy and will present his summer research project at the University of California Los Angeles in 2023.
