Andrea is Inupiaq and from Anchorage, Alaska. She is majoring in cell biology and neuroscience with a pre-med focus. She serves as a tutor at the AIH and the EMPOWER Center on campus, where she helps many students with STEM-related courses. She is a founder and mentor of the Honor Bound program. This past summer, she participated in a National Science Foundation-funded REU program at the University of Oregon focused on linguistics and Indigenous language revitalization. Her goals are to become a pediatrician and return to rural Alaskan villages to provide healthcare to those in need. Her favorite pastimes are being in nature, listening to music, and eating good food.
