The Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus Program

Who We Are - Staff & Volunteers

Mirella Gutierrez,
Yosemite Trip Leader

Raised in the heart of Southern California, Mirella began her transition from city girl to outdoor adventurer when she attended the University of California, Merced, located in the gateway community for Yosemite National Park. She found her calling to be an outdoor educator when she joined the Yosemite Leadership Program and became a Wilderness Education Student Ranger for Yosemite National Park. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in earth systems science, Mirella wanted to introduce her "bear and tree" friends to young Bay Area artists by becoming the Yosemite Trip Leader for Parks in Focus. Like any typical fun-loving, ice cream-eating, window-shopping, tree-hugging photographer, Mirella spends her days off napping in the sunshine to recharge her creative batteries. She is more excited than ever for a second summer with Parks in Focus, making more beautiful memories and s’mores.
