Sky is a chemistry major with a biochemistry concentration. He is the eldest of six boys and comes from the Navajo Nation. His research experience includes research with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Drexel’s STAR program, and other labs at Drexel. His research has covered the identification of endolysins as antimicrobials, working on a DNA sequencer for real-time pathogen detection, plasma polymerization of acrylic acid, and cognitive neuroengineering.
He is the president and founder of Drexel Indigenous Students of the Americas. He hopes to pursue a career in healthcare for low-resource communities and to study diseases that are prevalent among Indigenous populations.
