Kate is a Cherokee Nation and Delaware Tribe of Indians student majoring in biology pre-med with a neuroscience minor at Oklahoma State University. She is committed to helping underserved Native American communities by focusing on known health deficits within the environment and the genetic makeup of Native American patients. Her undergraduate thesis is on understanding how nutrient iron within specific gene mutations impacts cancer cell progression and potential treatment. She serves as Social Media Chair for OSU’s Native American Student Association, is an active student leader for The Center for Sovereign Nations, and volunteers in the local hospital emergency department. In her free time, Kate enjoys traveling and listening to country music.
