Environment

Grant is a wildlife, fisheries, and aquaculture major who envisions himself planning wetland restoration projects that conserve biodiversity while protecting vulnerable communities from climate change. As an undergraduate researcher, he is exploring the diversity and habitat selection of young fish in imperiled seasonally flooded forests. This school year, he planned Students for a Sustainable Campus’s Climate March, led recycling pick-ups after home football games, and helped Mississippi State’s chapter of The Wildlife Society win 1st place at TWS Southeastern Student Conclave. Over the summer, Grant will apprentice with the Coastal Conservation and Restoration Lab in Biloxi, Mississippi. Grant is a naturalist and loves spending time outdoors identifying trees and herptiles.
