Alexandra Garay Sandoval

Trip Leader | Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus® Program

Alexandra Garay Sandoval grew up in the border town of Nogales, Arizona, and Nogales, Sonora, México. Personally and professionally, her cultural background has made her passionate about environmental justice and advocating for Latinx and BIPOC communities. While at the Student Conservation Association (SCA), Alexandra led young adult crews in seasonal restoration projects along southeast Texas, facilitated virtual community programs for high school youth in Houston, and successfully executed a pilot coastal restoration program in south Texas. Alexandra’s continued goals to work in local community engagement and advancement made her ecstatic to join Parks in Focus®. As a trip leader, she enjoys empowering youth to express themselves through the art of photography and use nature as their inspiration. In her free time, Alexandra is a dedicated foodie who enjoys dancing, discovering music, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends. Alexandra is a graduate of the University of Arizona and a native desert fish enthusiast.
