Casey E. Brayton

Casey is a geophysics and marine science double major at the University of South Carolina Honors College. She conducts physical oceanography research using numerical models with Dr. Alexander Yankovsky and Dr. Ryan Rykaczewski at USC, studying the interactions between ocean circulation, global climate, and ocean productivity. During internships with Conservation Voters of South Carolina and NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, Casey has helped develop climate change communications strategies to open dialogue among geoscientists, politicians, and the general public. At USC, Casey is the founder and president of Women in Geosciences, co-chair of Marine Technology Society, and an active volunteer at Resurrections in Columbia.
