Temerity is a sophomore studying biology in the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon. She is an enrolled member of the Round Valley Indian Tribes of Northern California. Temerity wants to pursue a MD/PhD program to study the negative health effects of pollution on, and provide medical care to, her reservation and other reservations across the country. She has performed neuroscience research on depression and role of the auditory cortex in learning new languages. She is a codirector of the Native American Student Union and recently reestablished the American Indian Science and Engineering Society on her campus, hoping to empower and inspire other Native students in STEM fields.
